The Koolaburra Story
Over 200 years ago the first European colonists settled Australia bringing sheep with them. This cottage industry has been in existence for a couple hundred years. Today there are more than two dozen manufacturers of sheepskin boots in Australia and New Zealand and there are hundreds of individuals who handcraft these boots as well. For twenty years Koolaburra's manufacturing facility in Perth, Western Australia has produced sheepskin footwear handcrafted exclusively with first grade Merino sheep wool for quality and consistency found nowhere else. Slight variations in colour and texture are to be expected and appreciated and are part of the beauty of Genuine Sheepskin! Note on Black Boots: To get the dark black colour, skins are dyed twice. This sometimes results in a little dye residue on your feet the first few wearings. Fit: Boots and slippers should fit firmly because after several hours of wear they will stretch, like a pair of jeans, to fit perfectly! Insoles are removable! Ask for replaceable tan or black Koolaburra insoles. Wash and care: Use a mild pure soap to hand wash in luke warm water. Rinse with cold water. Dry naturally and slowly away from sun or artificial heat. Do not wash in hot water or washing machine. Do not put near fire or in the oven. Do not use harsh brushing.
