Currently we are looking for a part-time (20 to 30 hours per week) person to replace Ashlee who is leaving for school. She has been responsible for some opening and/or closing, sales, merchandising clothing and changing displays, shipping and receiving and light paperwork. Ability to communicate and create enthusiasm for merchandise is essential.

. . . Enthusiasm, customer-service orientation, honesty, reliability, high energy, good sense of humor, team-oriented, sports & health minded, good learning ability, self-starting qualities and ability to take direction and responsibility easily.
. . . Since we are strong in tennis, and because tennis tends to be the most technical, a competitive or team-playing background would count heavily; without that, a big passion to learn the game, the equipment and merchandise would be a necessity.
. . . Also, since we sell a lot of clothing, merchandising/display and sales ability is very important.
. . . We are periodically looking for stringing help so if you have knowledge or experience in that department, that would be excellent. Our standards are very high but we can teach you what you don't know, provided you have an attitude for excellence.
. . . If it is a part-time position you are looking for we can work around school schedules but you will be expected to work at least one of the weekend days. Also, we are busy around the Holidays so count on working then also.
. . . Pay is based on experience/ability; advancement comes with merit.

It will be a full-time position defined initially as assistant manager growing into manager position depending on experience and performance on the job and/or experience brought from previous jobs.

We are looking for a minimum of a two year commitment. Salary, benefits and incentives are dependent upon experience and/or abilities and will be discussed in more detail if an interview is warranted on the basis of your application.
Though we are a multi-sport specialty store our #1 sport is tennis. If you have strong retail experience, merchandising, sales, background but not much in tennis experience, we would like you to apply but if hired you would need to "hit the books" for the knowledge you would need for the successful selling and assistance/service with rackets, strings and shoes.
We are a small store with only 1-3 people working at any one time and need someone with a real commitment to customer service who can perform with intelligence, enthusiasm,
sense of humor and friendliness.
Duties include:
Responsible for opening and closing, scheduling the part-time help & filling in for any shortages in scheduling. Selling, merchandising, display, shop keeping and basic maintenance, phone, receiving and stocking, re-ordering, web sales, shipping and communications, some very light bookeeping/filing, customer care, cashiering, returns, stringing or arranging for the stringing of rackets, light computer work and inventories.
Hours: Are Daily and include Saturday. Averages40-50 hours/week, overtime pay after 40 hours, of course. 1/2 or Full day(s) off when possible with coverage from part-time help. 9:30 to 6 PM. On duty lunch when part-time help not available.

AND . . . If you are an experienced and avid tennis player and like working with your hands and producing an excellent product we may train you to be a high-quality racket stringer. It might be 2-4 hours a day, we can be very flexible but you must be reliably available. Also, we can't train you unless you'll be available over the next 1-3 years. I
